Nutrastevia was born in Peru in 2007, from the fusion of experiences of people that have been working for many years with natural and healthy products. Since then, we have made significant steps towards the global market, leaning on an international team.

Our goal is to spread the sweet and healthy taste of the Stevia plant, making a wide range of products available to everyone and ensuring, at the same time, harmonious relationship with the environment, fair trade and intercultural acceptance between people.

WHAT IS NUTRASTEVIA

Nutrastevia is the best way to sweeten your life. Stevia leaves are naturally sweet and, certainly, the best alternative to sugar and artificial sweeteners.

Nutrastevia is a natural sweetener that has, as its main ingredient, Stevia glycosides. These compounds are as much as 300 times sweeter than sucrose and are virtually calorie free.

Nutrastevia is:

1 - HEALTHY SWEETENS. All our products have as main ingredient the wonderful STEVIA plant and its derivatives.

Why consume Stevia?

Stevia rebaudiana is a unique perennial, native to semi-humid subtropical regions of Paraguay and Brazil, mostly known for being zero-calories. Unlike other sugar substitutes, stevia is derived from a plant.

The proprieties of this plant, used by native Guarani tribes since centuries, are mostly well known. Stevia has no calories, and it is 300 times sweeter than sugar in the same concentration. Other studies suggest stevia might have extra health benefits.

Stevioside is non-carbohydrate glycoside compound. In contrast to sugar, stevia extracts have several unique properties such as long shelf life, high temperature tolerance, non-fermentative.

In addition, stevia plant has many sterols and antioxidant compounds like triterpenes, flavonoids, and tannins. Studies found that kaempferol can reduce risk of pancreatic cancer by 23% (American journal of epidemiology).

Chlorgenic acid in the stevia leaves help reduce blood sugar levels. The lab studies also confirm a reduction in blood glucose levels and an increase in the liver concentrations of glucose-6-phosphate and of glycogen.

Certain glycosides in stevia extract have been found to dilate blood vessels, increase sodium excretion, and urine output. In effect, stevia, at slightly higher doses than as sweetener, can help lower blood pressure.

Being a non-carbohydrate sweetener, stevia would not favor the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria in the mouth which is attributed to be a causative agent for dental caries and tooth cavities.

In addition, being an herb, stevia contain many vitals minerals and vitamins which are absent in the artificial sweeteners.

Why enter in the stevia market?

Unlike many other sectors, Stevia has enjoyed a rapid rise in popularity on a global scale over the past six years. Worldwide its sales reached 4,100 tons in 2013, a 6.5% increase on 2012, taking its overall market value to $304 million.

Originating from Paraguay, where stevia leaf has been valued for centuries because of its sweetening properties, stevia has been used as a sweetener in Japan and South America for decades, only recently spreading to the European, North American and Asian market. That makes this sector extremely attractive for new investors.
